Survival Memo
After
reading the EDAC 634 syllabus for the first time I have to admit that I freaked
out a little bit! I thought that a 20+ page syllabus was a little overwhelming and
had second thoughts about attempting this course. However, the syllabus soon
became my best friend! As you can see, a lot the assignments in this course are
based around one central topic. I recommend choosing whatever topic you
actually find interesting because you will spend a lot of time working with
this material and your group. My experience with group work in this course was
great! Maintain good communication with your group members and define clear
expectations about the tasks that you assign each other. Discussion boards are
also an important part of this course. I had the best luck with working ahead
in this area. I recommend getting these posts done well before the deadlines so
that you can have time to commend accordingly on your classmates posts! Most of
all I would say when in doubt about anything in the class, reaching out to Dr.
Chang is your best bet! She responds to all emails and questions in a quick
manner and clarifies any questions you have!
- · Begin early and do not procrastinate
- · Maintain open communication with your group members
- · Review APA before you start writing your assignments!
- · Read and print out your syllabus!
- · Make sure that you complete all aspects of the rubric for each assignment
- · Don’t be afraid of the new technology
- · Pick a topic that you actually like! You will be working with that material a lot for these assignments
- · Make sure that you pay attention to the rules of the discussion boards and make sure all posts are done on time!
- · Contact Dr. Chang with any questions! She is very helpful
